The London Graduate Development Community are pleased to announce Open Source Jumpstart 2010 - to be held on 17th April 2010 at IBM Southbank.
The event will kick off on the morning of Saturday 17th April with an introduction to some leading Open Source projects. Then youll choose a project to participate in, and collaborate with fellow students and a project committer over the course of the day - leading to your work being committed into the project you worked on - and your name being added to the list of contributors.
This is your chance to experience a taste of real Open Source development and to meet leading developers in an informal and stimulating environment.
Experience of working on live Open Source Software projects will instantly help your CV to stand out, as will an understanding of how these projects fit into the industry. This event will give you an insight into what Open Source projects are all about, how they work and give you actual experience of working on them. The event will also serve as material for an interesting talking point at any job interview you attend in the future. You will also have the opportunity to meet not only like-minded peers but also experienced developers working on world-leading OSS projects.
We have space for only 40 students, so be sure to register as soon as possible.
