We are very pleased to be hosting sessions of the London F# User Group. This is the first scheduled meetup of the London F-Sharp User Group held at Skills Matter. We have two talks planned for this meetup and will also have plenty of opportunity to mingle and exchange ideas.
TALK 1: DESIGNING A NUMERICAL OPTIMIZATION LIBRARY IN F-SHARP edit
Naoufel El Bachir will discuss the design of a numerical optimization library in F#, illustrating how F# allows one to express mathematical problems in a very natural way.
He will discuss the design of an abstract interface, then look in some detail at the implementation of 1 or 2 algorithms, including the easy parallelization of some algorithms.
TALK 2: REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE OF F-SHARP edit
Phil Trelford will share his real world experience of applying F-Sharp to a recent project he has been working on: integrating instant messaging into a Trading Platform. Technologies covered will include F# Agents, F# Asynchronous Workflows, WPF, XMPP and BDD. As always with Phil: Expect to see plenty of code.
