I have got a few developers that I have approached with the plan and are keen to come along, so now that I know that it's a viable proposition the idea is this; I am looking to increase the group to about 15-20 of the best .NET developers I can possibly find, and get you all together for a weekend at a relaxing and chilled out country house, where we can drink coffee, barbeque sausages, order pizzas in, and essentially kick back with a few laptops (and sufficient bandwidth!) to put our heads together and see if between us - and this is the challenge - over the course of the weekend, we are able to go some way towards assembling an early, and soft launch-able version of a live crowd sourcing and collaboration platform called Worksauce. Everything will be laid on, all you would have to do is turn up with a laptop, meet some new people, and be in the frame of mind to make a strong contribution to a team faced with an interesting and potentially very rewarding challenge...

What is Worksauce?

Think of Worksauce as a refreshing concoction of the key elements of Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn (on steroids and Red Bull!) and a dash of something with a useful, every day feel to it, like Gumtree or Craig's List or something - set within a transparent and genuine environment. This is then coupled with an experimental crowd sourced news aggregator - which enables similar professionals to effortlessly contribute to a continuous feed of up to the minute news and relevant articles, potentially making it an incredibly specialised, and powerful real time resource for any individual professional - regardless of trade or sector. Now this is what makes Worksauce particularly unique, in that it is designed to appeal to virtually any professional in any industry, and actively encourages users to think beyond their routine 'line of work'. So beyond just strengthening users links for specific professional needs, Worksauce also provides instant access to a far-reaching and varied network of professionals to call upon at will. This looks to mirror, or perhaps become a useful antidote to the vast array of problems we all face on a daily basis, from plumbing to programming issues - a feature that is loosely based on an established theory of Social Capital. If you like the sound of this, I have attached a bit more information for you. If you find that you are interested and would like to take part, please do get in contact. Best wishes,

Sam
