Dependency injection is the process of moving the responsibility for creating resources out of the classes using them. This practice leads to looser coupling of components, which leads to a more portable system and enables proper mocking of dependencies when testing. At the class level, there are a number of design patterns to follow that provide DI in different ways, each with their own pros and cons.
