Getting PC information

  Hello,
  

  
  I want to disable/enable several menu's/functions on a website.
  Just a couple of pc's should be able to use this functions.
  IP address is not a static item so i thought about retrieving the mac address and store it in a database.
  Only the owners of these addresses are able to use the functions.
  

  
  Does anyone has a better idea or knows how to get the mac address in ASP ??

  There's actually a quite interesting discussion on the same topic here but concerning PHP not ASP. I believe that the conclusion was that a component would have to be installed on the client's computer in order to achieve this result, and that nevertheless MAC addresses can be spoofed.
  Why not use something such as certificates or challenge/response pairs to authorise these computers instead?
