The Los Angeles Developers User Group has been going for over 15 years. Originally we were the LA Visual Developers User Group, then the LA Delphi User Group, and more recently, the current name, The LA Developers User Group. Our major difference is the extensive participation of the members - presenters should be prepared for comments and questions throughout the meeting, and if we really like you, some friendly heckling as well ! Many presentations are made by members. These days we do a lot of dotNet, as well as development platforms (like cloud and mobile). Every meeting starts with general news and issue discussions. This is one of the rowdier groups but also deeply technical.

    Part 1: What's So Great About... iOS 5 & XCode 4.2iPhone/iPad/iPod iOS 5 now has ARC (Automatic Reference Counting) which means the newb hell of learning iOS memory management has been fixed, plus a lot of new features, and XCode 4.2 now has Storyboards, which means the newb hell of learning to push and pop views (windows) has gotten way easier, plus a lot of other conveniences.  This is an intro-level presentation from Richard Grossman, which will include some basic coding demos.
