The Alameda Island Android Bootcamps

My goal is to make you build your own Android(TM) mobile application and publish it on Android's Market. To that end, we'll have fairly regular training mini-bootcamps that will be three hours long for the next two months. Each mini-bootcamp will have a bite-sized mini-project/programming homework to be attempted in advance each time.

During the meetup itself, the first two hours will be to help members who got stuck (or simply didn't have the time) to do the preassigned homework. The third hour will be for a lesson plan that's centered around the concepts of the homework that was just done beforehand. Those of you who complete your homework coding exercises in advance are welcome to come to the second part (two hours into it), but you are just as welcome to come to the first part as well, to assist members that need it. These will be hands-on labs, even that last hour. Be sure to have your laptop.

  • 4 hrs Saturday Noonish Class: Beginning Android Programming and Java Refresher

    This is a 4-hour noonish Saturday class for a small number of students who are new to Android mobile programming, and who may also need a Java refresher course.Please try to arrive by 11:30 am, the class will begin itself at noon, and then end at 4 pm (but despite the noonish time, lunch will not be provided, so do eat something before coming)

  • Sunday Morning: 4-hour Beginning Android Programming

    This is a 4-hour Saturday class for people who are new to Android mobile programming (but who are already familiar with Java).A laptop will be required. Also, this class will be exactly four hours long. Please arrive by 9 AM. I'll begin at 9:30 AM and then end it at 1:30.If you don't have your Eclipse development environment set up, or if you need help troubleshooting your installation, please come one hour earlier.
