  At long last, the Palm webOS Meetup group rises from the grave. Unlike a brain-eating zombie, however, this meeting will fill your brain with geeky goodness.We'll start out with introductions and an inspirational speech from the local Palm Developer Relations crew. Then your humble organizer will give a short talk on Open Source in webOS app development. We'll have some time for announcements, requests for development partners, airing of thorny problems, and the like.

  Our next Palm Pre meetup will be at Palm Headquarters! Palm has generously provided us a space, food, and drinks for our next meetup; July 28th @ 7:00PM. We will have Davis Frank from Pivotal Labs (makers of the Tweed and Associated Press apps on the Pre) giving a speech followed by an engineer from Palm to talk about the platform and development.

  I am going to tentatively set this meeting for Red Rock coffee shop upstairs pending that they are comfortable with everything. This meetup will have no formal discussion and will most likely follow the "hackfest" format (bring your own pre/laptop/discussion-topic). If the attendance number grows much more beyond 10 I will likely need to reschedule until we can find a place more accommodating.
