snowcode

Snowcode is a week at a time, held for 3 weeks each year in one of the top European Ski destinations, where developers meet up and take part in open coding sessions 4 hours a day, and ski /snowboard for 6 hours a day, with mountains of opportunities to apre-ski and build lasting friendships. All the open coding conferences are free to attend, and will be held at budget resorts so you can book your own accommodation nearby so that we can have as many attendees as possible.

Instead of spending anything up to £1500 on your next 3 day developer conference, where you still have to pay and find your own accommodation, come to free Snowcode conferences and meet other developers who share your passion for sharing, learning and contributing. (Book your own holiday at any resort and attend all the sessions for free, or book through a snowcode agent to stay at the chalets where the sessions will be held.)

Total price for a week's skiing or snowboarding, plus flights and accommodation, all meals (half board), excluding lift pass and ski hire, (including the conference) is expected to cost between £800 and £1200.

We're using Google code as our REPO where all the code for the projects kick started at snowcode events will reside, and any open source projects that spin off as a result of snowcode will have their birthplace.

If you're thinking of starting an open source project and need to find passionate developers who are experts in their field, then this is the place to be inspired and get started.

You are also free to book at a neighbouring resort and check the website to see where we'll be ski-ing and drinking and just come along for the social, networking and crazy mad ass fun.

(Ski resort and dates will be announced via twitter, follow #snowcode) See you at snowcode 2010!

cheers all,

Alan Hemmings

Events are sponsored by a select group of private angel investors who are also developers. Any profits (if any) from any snowcode event will go back into supporting and running future events.
