Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel , Los Angeles, US

The format will be mostly ad-hoc and casual. Here's the general idea:

  • At the start of the evening, I will announce one or more programming problems.
  • Everyone is encouraged to choose their favorite JVM languages and tools to solve the programming problem.
  • At the end of the night, everyone is encourage to share their solutions on an "online whiteboard".
  • This meetup is open to all JVM languages. If it runs on the JVM, it's fair game.
  • We'll operate on the honor system, and ask everyone to cite any non-trivial sources of their work (such as large code snippets copied from Googling, etc.)
  • In the following days (weeks?), we could carry on an online discussion about what we learned, etc.
  • Other than these stated rules, I'd like to see the night be organic, ad-hoc, etc.

Parking and Directions:

We're in the Gateway West building, next to the Westfield Century City mall on the east side. It's the only building with big red "Westfield" signs on top.

I recommend you park at the mall. You get 3 hours free at the mall, and our building is a short easy walk: Exit from the mall parking garage up to ground level, head east, pass the Lens Crafters, and you'll be able to enter the west side of 1801. Then just hit the elevators to go all the way up to floor 14, and we're in Suite 1450.

In a pinch, if you park in the parking garage for Gateway West, I may be able to score you parking validation. However, I cannot promise it and therefore prefer you use the mall parking.
