Look for the food truck when you arrive!

ideeli is treating us to dinner at a food truck. From 6:50 until 7:15 there will be a Cuban food truck parked near the ideeli offices. Once you've got your dinner, you'll head upstairs to the ideeli offices for drinks and to meet their team. Then, we will walk a few blocks to the Skillshare offices.

We will meet with the developers at both offices. They will tell us about the technology they are building, give us an overview of their development stack and share information on their team structure and culture. We will get an inside view of their offices and enjoy drinks, light snacks and conversations.

Ideeli offers limited-time sales that feature incredible brands at exceptional prices. Launched in 2007, ideeli is one of the fastest growing retailers in the U.S. With more than 5 million members and more than 1,000 brand partners, ideeli has pioneered a new way to shop. They are featured prominently in the press and have grown very quickly. Ideeli is built on Ruby on Rails, and they follow agile principles and practices to deliver features fast and frequently.  They are focused on building a DevOps culture to make the tech team even better.  The team releases changes daily and are working together to make continuous deployment a reality.

Skillshare’s mission is to transform education by empowering teaching and democratizing learning. In just over a year of operations, with a very small team, they’ve made tremendous progress toward that goal. Checkout their current class offerings and for further inspiration, watch their manifesto video. Skillshare is a community marketplace to learn anything from anyone. They believe that everyone has something they want to learn and something they can teach to others. This means their communities are really the greatest universities. Their platform helps make the exchange of knowledge easy, enriching and fun. Skillshare's site is built on a LAMP stack.

Be sure to arrive by 7:30 PM to take advantage of the dinner!
