Presentation
Did you know that if you have experience developing websites, then you can already make Windows 8 applications? The architecture of Windows 8 allows developers to use a variety of languages: HTML/JavaScript, XAML/C#, and XAML/C++.
Windows 8 is launching soon and represents a colossal opportunity for developers. Come learn how to quickly and easily create great Metro style apps, how to consume REST APIs you may already have in the cloud, how to interact with Windows and the device hardware directly from JavaScript, and more. We?ll spend an hour learning what it?s all about and then dedicate some time to answer your questions.
If you?d like to follow along, you may want to get Windows 8 (Release Preview) and Visual Studio 2012 installed on your laptop, but if you can?t then you?ll be fine without.
