Pair Programming is a technique to remove defects. But it is misnamed. It can be used for more than just programming. Can it be done remotely? Are formal code inspections (M Fagan, 1976 IBM Systems Journal) or less formal code reviews an acceptable options for those who do not like pairing? What quality benefits will you see, and at what cost? Are the benefits limited to defect prevention or is there more to it?
1) Come join us to hear a 30 minute lecture with some metrics and data - presented by Agile Bill who has paired since 2001 on code and beyond.
2) Then we will have a 40 minute open forum to share your experiences, both good and bad.
