We will talk about the Spotify web API, apps, best practices around how to handle a asynchronous API, how we use some cool features in HTML5, the challenges of the web team right now and how we look at the future of web development.

Drinks & sandwiches will be provided.

Speakers/
Agenda

During the evening, we will talk about the Spotify platform, stuff that we've run in to, cool hacks and solutions to daunting problems and in general, how we approach javascript development:

  • Performance optimisation, testing and learning at Spotify: We'll show a bunch of cool stuff we've done in our environment to allow us to measure our web performance, how we test things and the perils of Spotify app development.
  • Developing your own apps on the Spotify platform: In this talk, we will discuss the softer values of app development. What apps are available on the platform right now, and how does the process look for getting your own app onto Spotify and a world of music lovers.
