Author and speaker Jakob Heuser has been lucky enough to do what he does and call it "work" for about 10 years. He is currently employed at LinkedIn Corporation where he does a little less PHP and a whole lot more JavaScript. Before that, he worked for Gaia Online, where he was an advocate and contributor to TDD, open source systems, and agile development.

Unit Testing: First Steps Skill Level: Entry

Unit Testing seems overwhelming the first time you hit the documentation page. Their secret though is that they're not only easy to get up and running with, but frameworks have become flexible enough to survive in some of the most adverse conditions. In this 45 minute session, we will be covering the concept of Unit Tests and their benefits, installation of common frameworks, and basic testing syntax to help avoid reading pages of manual. This will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience.

We still have 30 minutes at the end of the meetup if anyone else would like to speak. You may speak for as little as 10 minutes.
