I am excited to announce that Phyllis Ellison from Innovate VMS will be presenting on how Innovate VMS helps to launch new businesses with the help of industry professionals and 6 local universities.
Innovate VMS is the venture mentoring service of Innovate St. Louis. Their mission is to promote entrepreneurship education and leadership through team mentoring of innovative new ventures at no cost by experienced serial entrepreneurs and business persons within the metropolitan St. Louis area.
Phyllis Ellison is the Associate Director for InnovateVMS, the Venture Mentoring Service of Innovate St. Louis. She has been involved in the program since its inception in May 2007. Phyllis previously worked in various roles at Washington University for 4 years, including as the Finance Administrator for the Skandalaris Center for Entrepreneurial Studies.
Prior to joining Washington University in 2003, Phyllis worked as a Manager in Ernst & Young LLP's Consulting Practice. She worked for clients in the life sciences, airline, automotive services and telecommunications industries, focusing on financial processes and regulatory compliance. Phyllis also lead the Resource Management team for the Telecommunications, Networks and Entertainment division for four years, with responsibility for staffing and industry-specific education for over 1,200 consultants in North America. She developed a successful staffing program that served as a model for other industry divisions throughout Ernst & Young, and partnered with Telecommunications practices in Australia and South America to share best practices.
Phyllis's other experience includes marketing and PR roles for a local commercial real estate firm, and credit analysis and marketing roles for GMAC's automotive lending division. She holds an MBA from Saint Louis University, and undergraduate degrees in Economics and Business (Finance) from Truman State University.
