Gear up for the coming school year with a long-awaited tour of the STRAND Bookstore. Located at 828 Broadway near Union Square, this iconic treasure-trove is the home of 18 miles of new, used, rare and out-of-print books, art books, and much, much more!!! We'll receive a brief history of the store by Christina Foxley, Director of the Store Events and Marketing. Afterwards, we'll meet Fred Bass, the Strand owner, and John Bannister, the Library Services Manager. John will answer questions about their services. You won't want to miss this one, so do RSVP early! The group will break for a light meal afterwards at a local eatery near Union Square TBA. Suggestions may be posted on the Message Board or directly to me, Stephanie. See you all there! BTW, there will be a waiting list and I'm assuming that folks may have to skip the tour and just come for the networking. Just be sure to please indicate that when the time comes.
Please note: Anyone who wishes to visit Strand on their own can certainly come. Just know that the tour may be off-limits. Bottomline: Assume that if you still wish to be part of this meetup, just put yourself on the waiting list.
