For our second Mobile Monday, we're pleased to welcome Ben Lewis - cofounder of Tapjoy, a mobile app monetization platform featuring ad aggregation/optimization and virtual goods payments recently featured in TechCrunch ("Has Tapjoy solved monetization of free apps on the iPhone and Android?").
Ben is a UM alum (CE '01, MBA '05) and 4-year Google veteran who will be speaking about his experiences as an entrepreneur, some of the pros/cons of the iPhone/Android markets, what he's learned about monetization, raising capital, and the history of Tapjoy. From Ben:
Tapjoy started a year ago with a single game, TapDefense, that was #1 in the app store for a few weeks
We now have a platform that helps other iPhone and Android developers monetize their apps through better ads and a virtual goods system
We have over 1,000 publishers using our product today including some of the biggest publishers on the iPhone such as ngMoco, Papaya, and Digital Chocolate
We need more engineers and a UI designer to join our team!
Please note the new (hopefully more accessible) location, which we're trying out as an alternative to our regular North Campus venues. Bring a friend!
