Mobile Web Services Manager

Develop innovative Web Location Based Services and APIs that are focused on mobile devices and grow Yell’s market share in mobile search advertising. Key Tasks: Tasks will include: • Development of new web based products and features from product backlog. • Development of APIs and services to enable mobile native applications. • Debug and maintenance of existing systems build on Java server technologies. • Incremental system improvement and optimisation. • Use of SCM and build and deployment tools. • Working as part of cross disciplinary team using Agile/SCRUM based development processes. Employee Specification: Technical Competencies: Very strong Java programming skills, including framework experience. Proven experience of developing web services for high volume usage. Experience of developing server based APIs for mobile device services. Clear understanding of good engineering practices and procedures. Good understanding of XML and XSLT and XHTML technologies. Experience of development of JavaScript, ideally for mobile browsers. Proven experience to rapidly prototype and build systems. Ability to quickly analyse, learn and understand new systems. Ability to debugging complex client-server systems Ability to analyse and simplify and improve systems. Packages: SVN, Maven, Resin, AnthillPro, Eclipse, Spring, TomCat.
