Standard SOA speak

The not-for-profit e-business standards consortium OASIS has announced a new technical committee, whose aim will be to create a standard nomenclature for service-oriented architecture (SOA) – the SOA Reference Model (RM) technical committee.

The hope is that in clarifying what is meant by SOA, it will make it possible for developers and architects to make sure that they are talking about the same things.

The OASIS electronic business service-oriented architecture (ebSOA) technical committee created the SOA-RM to focus on the lower level aspects of SOA definition, such as services, policies, contracts and other components.
