High SOA uptake

This article was originally published in VSJ, which is now part of Developer Fusion.
BEA Systems’ independent survey of over 800 European developers reveals that 60% of the respondents are scheduled to deploy Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) within the next six months.

69% of respondents rated a messaging infrastructure that supports multiple protocols as being high priority. Close to 90% of the respondents cited web services as being important to SOA, and nearly half thought that BEA’s Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) would reduce complexity and simplify integration.

However, the survey results should be taken in context: the 800 respondents were unlikely to be representative of the European development market, given that all the interviews were conducted at BEA seminars.
