Windows XP Professional

Conclusion

Windows XP is undoubtedly the best release of Windows yet; it represents the first leap of speed, reliability and multimedia capabilities that windows users have been crying out for for years.

Users of NT 4 and Windows 9x/ME will reap the benefits of this new release, despite the relatively high upgrade cost. Windows 9x users will find a whole new world of reliability and memory management, whilst NT 4 users will rejoice with the plug-and-play and multimedia capabilities. Those with Windows 2000 have less reason to upgrade, but the multimedia features, fast boot-up times, and the ability to run Windows 9x games still represent a major benefit... it largely depends on what you use your PC for.
