unmanaged blocks

    well what i am trying to do is improve the speed of several image processing functions i have written.  from experiance i know that get and set pixel are the most time consuming operations...  i read somewhere that the use of unmanged blocks in c# can be used to greatly speed this up...

    i don't have much experiance in c# and am looking for a little guidance.  basically i just need to convert my code to c# (easy) and implement the unmanaged block feature and reference the dll with by vb.net project.  right?
