Locking/Formatting a Pivot chart

I am fairly new to access so please bear with me. I have been putting together a waste database at work, data is entered online within manufacturing and analysed in various ways via queries, graphs and reports

I have a pivot chart which plots target waste vs actual waste over time dependent on a specific product being selected. the problem i have is that i need to be able to allow the product filter to be changed but need to lock down the rest of the sheet so that it doesnt get changed, lots of people will be using & it will get altered within about 2 hours of going live!

I have tried locking the sheet as a read only, and have also looked for VB code to lock my chart with no joy, can anyone help with code to either lock the chart or format it on opening so that it doesnt matter if it gets altered.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is the one thing stopping me from completing a project that has taken me 9 months so far!

     Cheers
