datetimer picker date+ to string+C#

  friends ,

  in my windows form there is a datetime picker for recording current date. but i m failing to save the datetime value to database.

  how can i get only date from that in the form dd/mm/yyyy and save it successfully to the MS Access datetime column.

  please provide me a working code because i have already tried many options .
