timeout expired error

Situation: DB1 is used by window-based app, upon processing and transacting, when the other application tries to connect to that same database, it gives a timeout expired error. Even if I use another web-based app, it still gives out a timeout expired error.

My idea here is to have another database to be used by the other systems, but how can I make a particular table transparent or accessible because it is the masterfile.

How will my query [update, insert and delete] statements will look like?

Actually, I can't explain it better. If you have any question, please don't hesitate.

    Many thanks,
