Sense of <P><P></P></P>?

    um. another "standart" question. is it correct to programatically replace every <P>...<P> with <P>...</P><P></P>...  Sense of this question is question about sense of <P><P>a</P>b</P> expression. Does P dipped in P have some functional benefit of beeing in P? I see only option to address some element as P1.P2.element. But does it have some formatting sense?
