Our product is developed on RHEL 4 environment with MYSQL as the database. While working on the console , we keyed in the "ps-ef | grep mysql " to check on the processes . We had to kill 2 processes i.e 'idfile' and 'sock' . After killing the process we executed the following command: ' /etc/init.d/mysql stop' to stop MySql which took about thirteen minutes. I would like to know if this time frame is correct or is it exceeding the time frame?? And if it's exceeding why so?? what can be the recommended solution for the same.
