  Hi Folks,Photoshop for beginners.We will be teaching basics like tools, interface layout, sharpening, curves, levels and some cool tricks to make your photos zing.This will be a small group initially with the possibility of increasing the numbers. I will advise nearer the time.It will be operated on a waiting list basis to begin with so it is strongly advised to get yourself on the list as early as possible.

  Hi Folks, Photoshop for beginners. We will be teaching basics like tools, interface layout, sharpening, curves, levels and some cool tricks to make your photos zing.This meetup will be a regular thing so it's advisable to get your name on the waiting list.The meetup will take place every 2-3 weeks and numbers will be small groups of 4-5 people so as to get the best from the sessions.The venue will be Edinburgh city centre area. I'll email members privately prior to the meetup.

  TOP TIP!Canons and Nikons have picture style settings in the menus. These are called "Picture Styles" on Canons and "Picture Control" (I think) on Nikons.Note: Even basic compacts have these same settings on the dials or in the menu.Here's the tip - if you your camera set to Landscape, it will tend to saturate the blues and greens as these are the colours mostly found in landscapes - grass, sea, sky etc.Portrait setting on the other hand saturates the browns, pinks reds etc.

It is recognised as one of the world's best mountain bike parks with an onsite cafe and a nearby nature reserve.This meetup has something for everyone and should appeal to a broad group.We can do *landscape (autumn shots) *nature (deer, red squirrel) *birds (There is an Osprey Watch Centre nearby woodpeckers) *sports photography (mountain bikes, action)

• Sunset photos at Bangour Hospital !

  A chance to get some sunset photos over at Bangour Hospital / It's a great atmospheric location with derelict old villas and has been used as a location for movies like The Jacket where it doubled as a run down mental institution. Oh and apparently it's haunted.Bring along some food for a picnic and we can make an evening of it.It's not that far from Edinburgh and for those taking public transport the No.20 goes directly from Edinburgh to the gates of the hospital.

  Hi Folks,UPDATEWe will meet outside the Rutland at 7.30. Please be on time as many people will be claiming spots early and the town is expected to be extremely busy. We will leave at 7.45 prompt then a short walk to one of 3 potentially excellent (and different) spots where we can set up.Please ensure you have a tripod if you are considering a long exposure and if possible a remote cable/wireless trigger. Canon RC6 or similar.Please also feel free to bring food and drinks.

  Hi Folks,The Edinburgh Mela Festival is a multi cultural festival that includes urban music, choirs, traditional dancers, world music, sport, circus, a  drumming, beat-boxing and BMX.This is a great opportunity to capture very colourful images of dancers, bands, people and the BMX display. This should also provide lots of opportunities to get images for the Motion & Movement Theme.There will be food & drink, indoor as well as outdoor entertainment.
