DFW Apache LAMP Meetup is a group for geeks interested in the diverse technologies used in the World of LAMP (Linux-Apache-MySQL-PHP). This group was formerly the "The Dallas MySQL Meetup Group". The group's focus has been expanded to explore not only MySQL and the LAMP stack, but also compatible, complimentary and sometimes competing technologies...based upon industry trends and speaker availability. Currently, we will be meeting the first Monday of the month to avoid conflict with many other popular DFW area technical groups.
The organizer, Tish Wood, has been programming web applications professionally since 2002, began using LAMP in the last few days of that year, and is a veteran of the Silicon Valley Startup Industry. He has taught a variety of web technologies including PHP, MySQL, Java, JavaScript, XML, HTML and Adobe Illustrator in a Dallas-area community college. He is well versed in many of the latest back-end, front-end, web services and database technologies...and has a thorough understanding of what is takes to develop and deploy a complete solution. He has a BSCS from UT Dallas and a AAS in Electronic Technology from Austin Community College. He is also the founder and organizer of the "Greater San Francisco Bay Apache LAMP Meetup Group" [apache-49] which meets at Schooner Information Technology in Sunnyvale, CA.
We are constantly searching for motiviated, qualified presenters/speakers, so please click the "Organized By" link at the left and let Tish know if you are interested in presenting to the group.
We are a newly reorganized group and are currently meeting at Brookhaven College in Farmers Branch. Our Venue Sponsor is Professor Patti Burks of Brookhaven, who is also a regularly attending member of the group.
RSVP is requested for attendance at this time, primarily so we can have an idea of how many are attending. If you are told that there is an overflow and your RSVP is declined, feel free to show anyway...just volunteer to be the stand-up if we have exhausted all chairs. This policy may change in the future.
Thanks for Your Interest and we look forward to meeting you!
