This is a full day 300 level training session on the new SSAS Tabular Engine.

Analysis Services has changed - many of the old assumptions about doing OLAP need to be thrown away, and new ones learnt.

You will start with the basics - creating a tabular model using PowerPivot, and developing it to a user friendly interface in Excel.

You will then import this model into a Visual Studio Project, and deploy to Analysis services - decorating the model to enhance front end tools such as PowerView will be done at this point.

Performance comparisons between multi-dimensional and tabular will done.

A deep dive into methods of partitioning, and management using XMLA will take us through to the final piece - how to automate a conversion from Multi-Dimensional to Tabular.
