On November 7, 2012 the BAADD will host our 27th Annual Dinner Meeting in San Francisco, CA. We cordially invite the Developer Community to come together and join us for dinner at our place! Our theme at the meeting will again be "Trends in the software development industry - Technological and Business perspectives". It's an election year, and we all have questions about what the future holds. We also continue to face ever increasing challenges in managing diverse data, in developing new technologies to support them and integrating legacy applications into new paradigms there are often a myriad of tools and resources are required to get the job done.

Where is all of this taking us - what lies ahead? There are none are better qualified to answer these questions than you, the leaders and developers and team players that deal with these issues every day. Please come share a table with us and your perspectives about what lies ahead in our industry. We will again host a World Café session moderated by Ainsley Nies. Ainsley will help us explore the questions that matter to each of us, connect diverse perspectives and discover patterns and insights and how they connect to us all. It is a fun and interactive experience, leading to sometimes surprising results.

And as always there will be plenty of time to mingle, converse and get to know your fellow developers. Our environment is friendly and relaxed - you will meet people and presenters from user group meetings that you may not have been able to attend in the past year, as well as those whose presentations you enjoyed, and you will have a chance to rub elbows with leaders in the developer community. It is our mission at BAADD to provide our members with access to that community network through as many avenues as possible, and the Annual Meeting is one of the best opportunities you'll find.

The event will be held at Microsoft?s San Francisco office, 835 Market Street, Suite 700 on November 7, 2012. A buffet dinner catered by Miraglia will be served starting at 6:30pm along with wine from the Friedstein cellars. We will begin the formal meeting at 7:00pm. This meeting is open to all wishing to attend, and free for BAADD members. You can join or renew your membership at the door, but we encourage you to do so on our website ahead of time to help reduce the wait time at check-in. Go to http://www.baadd.org/make-donations to the ?Join BAADD? to sign up. Members may bring dinner guests at cost of $20.00 per guest.

Your participation helps keep this organization healthy and vibrant and that in turn supports the Community at large. BAADD continues to host user group meetings at no cost to attendees. This is possible due to the generous donations from our Sponsors and the work of your volunteer board who coordinate the sponsorship relations that help generate operating cash, recruit presenters, organize meetings rooms and meals and, last but not least, great raffle prizes. In turn we ask for your support by becoming a BAADD member, or renewing your membership in this organization, and joining us on November 7th.

Membership gives you a say in the direction BAADD takes, in the groups and events we support - your voice counts! This year we have two open seats on the Board of Directors. We welcome and encourage members both new and old to throw their hats in the ring for these volunteer positions. Take the opportunity to influence the governance of the organization and its future direction! No prior experience is required - just a current BAADD membership and a desire to give back to the community. If you are interested, please email me so that we can get your name on the ballot.

So come out and help us bring the Community together on November 7th. Please RSVP and please be sure to indicate how many will be attending. We would be delighted to see you there!
