This month we support GreenLAGirl Siel and The Daily Ocean's Sara Bayles.
Join us for the Blogger Beach Cleanup (BBC) to clean the beach for 20 minutes on the International Day of Climate Action. The eco-friendly fun starts at 4:20, and while the "official" beach cleaning is only 20 minutes, there will be plenty of other reasons to stay at the beach.
Please RSVP through this site if you will be attending with Net2LA. Meet in Santa Monica Beach at Ocean Park between lifeguard stations 26 and 27. And, please carpool, bus, bike, or walk to the event if you can.
Since I think Siel has already explained it best, let me excerpt from her post, and provide a link for you to learn moreand continue to get the most current informationabout Blogger Beach Cleanup:
"All you need to do is show up, ready to pick up trash. Are you a green thinking individual? Then youll make like-minded friends while learning how best to invest your time for eco-causes. An eco-nonprofit? You can win a chance to get your eco-message out via eco-minded social media professionals free! A local blogger? Youll get links to your work while being part of the solution, not the problem.
"Does all that sound stressful? Trust us Its not. Youll clean the beach but only for 20 minutes (why only 20 minutes? Learn more about The Daily Oceans project). After that, youll hear brief and we really mean very brief invitations from local nonprofits for the next event that lets YOU make a difference in this whole big problem of climate change youve been hearing so much about.
"Then youll get to chill out, drink, and eat with your new friends while waxing lyrical about pristine beaches, clean waters, local craft beer ."
