Hi! The last meet-up was great! Let's have another one and keep the momentum going!

Topic: Managing Jobs and Productivity!

Description: How do you get into 'the zone' and stay there? How do you handle scheduling, client management, distractions, last minute requests, etc. This isn't a code-focussed meeting per say, although I'm sure we'll bust out some source eventually.

Extras:
• Last week Jayse shared his on-the-fly thumbnail generator. I'm asking if someone would be willing to volunteer to share a piece of code they're proud of - or that has something different about it - and speak for about 15 to 20 minutes on it.
  • Anyone with Zend Framework opinions or experience is encouraged to speak a bit. Keith had a question about it last time.
  • I also have an esoteric question about model object methods vs. their parent class methods - in regards to which should be static, and return an object vs. which should be on the object instance themselves.
  •
Bonus Homework: Bring a silly code story involving the holidays. Goofy site redesign, etc.

    Time: 7:30 to 9:PM

    General Info

All of our meetups are informal.

Bring your laptop if you want to share some code. Bring questions or esoteric topics to discuss. Recent meetups have ranged all over but topics have included:

-- SVN usage -- Frameworks -- ORM -- Different Code Idea -- Sharing something about ourselves

Bring a willingness to get to know people and make friends.

Everyone will be encouraged to blog and link to each other afterward. I am no longer between blogs! :-)

    Bring a camera!
