The recently released Borland Silk 2008 range of software testing products includes updated versions of SilkTest, SilkPerformer and SilkCentral Test Manager.

The SilkTest 2008 functional testing application lets developers create and run a wide range of manual and automated tests on application code throughout the development lifecycle. It introduces a new version of its “Open Agent” technology, which provides a framework for Borland and others to add platform support, expand functionality and enable custom extensions.

SilkPerformer 2008 now provides broader support for scaling up Web 2.0 applications with testing for Adobe Flex via AMF3, and enhanced AJAX support that delivers readability and recognition of XML and JSON requests. It now includes support for the Remedy Action Request System. SilkCentral Test Manager 2008 offers greater flexibility for manual testers, security improvements and significant performance and scalability updates designed to meet the needs of large, geographically distributed teams.
