University of Sunderland to host .NET Developer Day

Popular community-driven events series DeveloperDeveloperDeveloper! has announced its first event in the north of England, to be hosted by the University of Sunderland.

DDD events have previously been held in Reading, various cities in Scotland, Ireland, the south west of England, Birmingham, Manchester and even Melbourne, Australia. However this event is the first to arrive within reach of .NET developers in the north.

“We’re proud to be bringing the North’s first DDD to Sunderland and to provide a platform for the world class software hub being developed here" said Andrew Westgarth, founder of the NEBytes user group who will be organising the DDD North event.

Despite many large software companies basing themselves in the south of the UK, the north of England has recently come in for some good press, with Royal Mail declaring Sunderland the "best place to start a business" in the UK, and the BBC calling it the "UK software capital".

The event is currently accepting proposals for talks at the event through their website. The whole thing is community driven, with sessions being proposed by and voted upon by the community to decide the agenda.

If you're interested in attending DDD North in October, or submitting a proposal for a presentation, then head over to their website.
