A web service is an API provided by a site that allows a remote application to access data and use functionality without having to 'act like a web browser'. Consumer devices, such as a smart phone, set top box or games console, often do not have a form factor that allows the easy use of an interactive web site but do allow the download of custom applications which use web services provided by such sites.

Essentially, RoloPress converts WordPress into a Contact Manager. It is not meant to be embedded in a blog, it is meant to be a standalone web application, just like Highrise, Zoho CRM and Salesforce.com. In fact, RoloPress has absolutely nothing to do with blogging.

Our February 9th meetup continues where Chris' discussion of test and build automation left off.We are extremely fortunate to have Kohsuke Kawaguchi from Sun talk about continuous integration with Hudson.For those that don't know, Hudson is an open-source continuous integration tool written in Java, which runs in any servlet container (deploys as a simple .war file) and integrates with SCM (CVS, Subversion, GIT, etc), Ant, Maven, as well as arbitrary shell scripts/commands.
