SharePoint 2010 browser issue

Here’s an issue that happens when both IE and Firefox are used to edit the same SharePoint 2010 list. When

editing a list item in Firefox, the content can be cluttered by formatting tags even though formatting

options are not available. This happens when the column is of the ‘Multiple lines of text’ info type

specified to allow ‘Rich text’ and the content was entered using IE, where the rich text features are

available. Of course, this won’t happen if everyone always uses the same browser. An easy workaround is to

change the column setting to allow ‘Enhanced text rich text (Rich text with pictures, tables, and

hyperlinks)’. By default, Tasks and Issue Tracking lists use the ‘Rich text’ setting for the Description

    column. There may be others.
