Catching abnormal exit from Shell

Does anyone know how to catch an abnormal exit from a shell function?

e.g. If this failed (i.e. errored duing execution of myapp.exe) Shell("c:\somefolder\myapp.exe -p parameters",AppWinStyle.Hide,True) then how can we tell?

     Thanks all.
