Formulate your goals
Most people spend more time on planning their vacation than on the career path they want to pursue.
By examining your goals today as well as those you have for 2, 5 and10 years from now, it will help you find what job is right for today as well as for the future.
You need to acknowledge your personal vision before you can expect of it to materialize. Then your goal will become clear and you a decision-making framework that will help in every aspect of your life.
Be specific about each goal. If you want to be an accountant, consider you want to work as an auditor, as an accountant in a commercial or industrial firm or as an accountant in an accounting firm.
Many goals will require certain steps prior to achieving them, and you may need to do some research before knowing what's involved. If you don't know what is required to become a chartered accountant, then you will need to investigate the necessary to for this profession. Once you learn what those steps are, they will be tasks to write down on the "short-term Goals" section of your goal sheets.....more
