Writing query_string to a file

I'm not even sure if I should be asking to do this in PERL or Javascript...

I wish to send people to my website, and as an example, say I start an advertizing campaign with Exit Exchange, and want to know for sure just how many people enter my site from this campaign (this isn't a good example, but I'll use it anyway)

Say I tell Exit Exchange to send users to:

    http://www.InternetInfoSource.com?EEX

And I want to log EEX to a file for later analysis....  How would this be best achieved?  Would I rename my INDEX.SHTML to something like HOME.SHTML, and create a index.ps to bring users into at the start?

Where would I go from there?

As you can tell, I am genuinely green here, but do have an aptitude
