| Command | Description |
| AT | Initialization code. You need to send this code before sending any other commands. |
| D | Tells the modem to dial a number. You can place a P or T after the D command
specifying Pulse or Tone dial, respectively. Then, put the number you want
to dial. For example, ATDT01992354987 would dial 01992354987 using Tone dial. You usually use Tone dial rather than pulse dial (which is the old rotary dial system). |
