Silverlight 1.0 release

This article was originally published in VSJ, which is now part of Developer Fusion.

Silverlight is Microsoft’s cross-platform browser plug-in featuring audio and video streaming and playback via Windows media. The big surprise is that the release version 1.0 includes support for Linux, due to a collaboration between Microsoft and Novel – project Moonlight. As a result Silverlight-enabled web applications will work just as well on Windows, Mac or Linux.

To try and demonstrate just how practical and impressive Silverlight technology is, Microsoft has set up a demo web site called Tafiti.
