Send mail with lotus notes

Hi,
Actually i have a situtation where the web server has to communicate to another machine that runs lotus mail server to send out mails. Can i still use System.Web.SmtpMail????

i think that if all mail gets through the lotus mail server then u can use the smtpmail else you have to let the server mail it.
