Is VB 6.0 still viable for new desktop applications?

I'm a retired programmer somewhat out of touch with latest development in the visual studio realm. But over the past few years i've been writing a vb 6.0 desktop application.

Can i still build an install package to distribute this for web-based download distribution?

I tried to upgrade a while back to v 2005 but a lot of my 6.0 code wouldn't port to it.

    thanks for any help.
