MSMQ and SQL

    Hi

I am not vey familiar with VB, but need to get some ideas for a job I need to do.

I have a Scada system which consists of 2 PCs a server collecting data (storing it in a local Access DB) and a client which runs SQL2000. I want to migrate the system to store data into SQL.

I have heard that MSMQ is a good way to do this becuase if the SQL PC dies, MSMQ will buffer the data and then send it when the SQL PC is working again.

What do I need to be able to use MSMQ? or is there a better way?

Is it better to use SQL Querys to insert the data into SQL, if so How do I detect that the data has been written OK?

    Any Ideas?

    Hi Eugene

Yes that's right especially if you use the recoverable delivery method
