can VB read autocad files

    i would like to us a vb app to read autocad drawlings.

    can this be done?

    Not by itself.  You'll have to use a third party component.  Depending on what you want it for, display of a static image only, or interactivity, you'll be looking at something like shareware for less than $50 per license, to commercial components costing more than $1000/license.

    thanks for you reply.

     

    i have a component in the insertable section that says"autocad drawing"

    i just want to read the drawing file only.

    would this insertable component work?   i do not see how to give this insertable the file path.
