happened 8 years ago
Organised by The Austin C/C++ Meetup Group
Every month or two, the C/C++ group gets contacted by people with business ideas who aren't programmers...but require technology talent to actualize their vision. So for this month's Coffee-and-Career talk, we'll focus on the jump from traditional employment to being a co-founder (or other major role) at a startup. If you've thought about building your own company or hooking up with people who are taking a crack at that, this discussion will hopefully be for you.

happened 9 years ago
Organised by The Austin C/C++ Meetup Group
The "Technology Show and Tell" is a new event series for the Austin C/C++ Meetup. It's based around getting a group in front of a big screen or projector. Then, we divide the time up among those who want to discuss things they're working on at their jobs, side-projects, or even some video they found on YouTube. To get the ball rolling, I'm going to solicit at least one presenter in advance (to make sure somebody will be sharing)

South Austin C/C++ Monthly "Coffee-and-Career-Talk" - Austin, United States
happened 9 years ago
Organised by The Austin C/C++ Meetup Group
For this month's Coffee-and-Career talk, I've invited Mark Cunningham of The Bidding Network to join us. Mark's prolific blog shares his perspective and insights as a technical recruiter, and I'm sure will spark a lively discussion! Give it a look, interesting stuff: meetup leans a little more toward career networking than the North one. But it also does double-duty as our South Austin programmer-talk gathering, so you certainly don't have to be unemployed or underemployed to attend!

Austin and its tech industry is growing. So is the C/C++ Meetup (...not to mention the C++ ISO specification :-P)This new monthly event adds to our existing C and C++ pub social that has been running continuously in North Austin for over 5 years! One key purpose is to offer a new time and location for those who can't conveniently make it to our North event. Since that is always the 3rd Monday, the South Austin meetup will be during the first week of the month.
